This big gate was constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1601 to commemorate his victory over Gujarat. The craftsmanship and architecture of this door is brilliant as well as unique. On the main gateways an inscription in Persian reads ‘Jesus son of Mary said, “The world is a bridge pass over it, but build no houses upon it. He, who hopes for a day, may hope for eternity; but the World endures but an hour. Spend it in prayer for the rest is unseen”‘

It is one of the most interesting orate buildings (hall of the private audience) and has a central tower called as Lotus Throne (known for stone carved mastery). It was used by the emperor to summon religious people for a private meeting.

It is built in a pyramidal structure having 5 stories and 176 columns. The main purpose of this building was to enjoy dance, musical and theatrical performances.
